Cloud City

Tomás Saraceno Tomás Saraceno

The installations realized by the Argentinian artist Tomás Saraceno’s reinterpret the concept of place, time and gravity that are the basis of architecture.

In the exhibition presented at the Hamburger Bahnhof museum, open until January 15, 2012, all pieces of the Cloud City collection are grouped together for the first time, a series of floating balloons, inspired by the charm of soap bubbles and the incredible power and flexibility of cobwebs. Within these gardens, they are able to accommodate the viewer allowing them to float in space, thus realizing a vision shared by all humanity.

All that seems to arise from the artist creates a feeling of boundlessness, motivated by the changes taking place in the world in which we live.

Each of its objects invites the viewer to consider alternative forms of knowledge, feelings and interaction with others.
