Strokes of Iron

Seung Mo Park Seung Mo Park

Beautiful delicate and elegant images that seem to evaporate like mist and smoke.

They are the portraits, mostly very large, made by sculptor Korean Seung Mo Park, who uses a very particular technique, through which become visible every expression and emotion of the human face.

The artist creates his works from a projected image and after he superimposes layers of network and wire. The next step is the subtraction and clipping of small portions of the network, through which appear beautiful portraits of lights and shadows, in every detail.

The result is truly amazing, the depth and the three dimensionality perceived from these images are enhanced by the superposition of the layers, and the roundness of the forms and the lines, collides with a material really hard and geometric.

The sculptural portraits of Park Seung Mo evoke mystery and magic, leaving to the viewer the impression to vanishing in the air as a cloud of smoke.
